DISTILLATION

Distillation is often thought to be the best treatment method because it mirrors natures hydrological process. The distillation process boils raw water and as the hot vapor rises, it is captured and then cooled into fresh water. Substances that cannot evaporate are left behind in the boiling chamber and then drained away.

Of the common water treatment methods, distillation is the most reliable over time, providing consistent water quality. But, distillation alone won't reduce such VOCs as gasoline and petroleum-based solvents.
